THE DIFFERENCE OF ONE
The Difference of One tells the American Story of Rosa Parks' arrest in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 1, 1955, for refusing to give her seat on the bus to a white man. Here you see her in her mugshot, with an image depicting the crime she was arrested for on her jacket. Her actions inspired the Montgomery Bus Boycott, led by Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I unveiled it in October 2010 at P.S. 254-The Rosa Parks School in New York, where it's on permanent display. It was dedicated to Principal Naomi Drouillard to celebrate having her school recognized by the United States Department of Education as a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
