DAWN OF A NEW DAY

On February 10, 2007, Senator Barack Obama stood in front of
the Old State Capitol Building in Springfield, Illinois, and announced he would seek the 2008 Democratic nomination for President. Ms. Diaz, through her work, has recorded significant moments of the rise of the first person of color to be elected President of the United States of America. During the 2008 election, Ms. Diaz used "Dawn of a New Day" to raise funds for the Obama campaign. In appreciation, Broadway Producer Margo Lion, who served as co-chairman of the "Arts Policy Committee" for the Obama campaign, planned for - then- presidential candidate - Barack Obama to sign the original work.
