During the 2008 primaries, a woman, and a person of color, went toe-to-toe for the 2008 Democratic nomination for the first time, both with the knowledge that each would be making history if they won. The Declaration of Independence, the backdrop of this piece, embraces this moment, declaring that we are all created equal. In 2010, former President Bill Clinton signed a print of this work when visiting the City of Binghamton during the 2010 midterm elections. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton signed the original at the 25 Anniversary of the National Network Conference in 2015.
